Meet Dr. Spinelli

Dr. Carl Spinelli

I am a chiropractor with a passion for holistic health. Born in Newark and raised in Nutley, I'm a father of three and an avid lover of tennis, golf, and good Italian food. My education in Biology from Fairleigh Dickson University and my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College have fueled my career, including teaching and serving as a team chiropractor for the MetroStars Soccer team. My approach is rooted in the belief that the body can heal itself, provided it's free from nervous system obstructions and supported by the right lifestyle changes. I'm committed to helping my patients heal holistically and promise to work with you towards your well-being, referring you to others if needed. Trust in me for compassionate, effective chiropractic care that empowers you towards a healthier life.

What is Chiropractic

Understanding chiropractic care starts with knowing what true health means: optimal physical, mental, and social well-being, not just the absence of disease. Chiropractic focuses on detecting, correcting, and preventing subluxations (misalignments of the spine) to improve overall health. It combines science, art, and philosophy, emphasizing the body's natural ability to heal itself by ensuring the spine and nervous system function correctly. People seek chiropractic care for three main reasons: relief from symptoms and pain, prevention of health issues through regular care, and the pursuit of optimal health for themselves and their community.

What conditions can chiropractic care treat?

Chiropractic care is effective in treating a wide range of conditions including back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, and joint issues. It can also help with improving posture, athletic performance, and overall wellness.

Is chiropractic treatment safe?

Yes, chiropractic treatment is widely recognized as one of the safest, drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints. Like any medical treatment, it has some risks, but they are relatively minor.

How long does a chiropractic session last?

The length of a chiropractic session can vary depending on the treatment plan, but initial consultations typically last around 25 minutes to 40, with follow-up visits ranging from 15 to 30 minutes.

Will I need to undergo chiropractic treatment forever?

The duration of treatment depends on your condition and your goals. Some patients see a chiropractor for periodic adjustments to maintain wellness, while others may need a specific treatment plan to address particular issues. Your chiropractor will work with you to determine the best course of action.

Do I need a referral from a physician to see a chiropractor?

In most cases, a referral is not necessary to see a chiropractor. However, some health insurance plans may require a referral for coverage purposes. It's always a good idea to check with your insurance provider to understand your benefits.
